Canberra is a great place to live and has a fantastic lifestyle, and there is much more on offer than politics and Parliament House!. Canberra has a wide range of sporting events and competitions, plenty of open space and a year-round program of special events including Skyfire, Floriade, the Multicultural Festival, and music festivals such as Foreshore and Groovin’ the Moo.

Canberra is also home to many of Australia's premier cultural attractions - the National Gallery, the Australian War Memorial and the National Museum with a range of exhibitions and performances.

Information about Canberra and what it offers to residents and visitors can be found at the following websites:

Social Network of Graduates (SNoG)

While making the move may seem a bit daunting, there will be graduates from universities all around the country in the same boat. The Social Network of Graduates (SNoG) is an organisation that aims to assist graduates, particularly those who have moved from interstate, to meet each other and explore Canberra and its surrounds. SNoG is run by graduates and they organise a broad range of social events and activities that cover all interests, whether they be sports, arts, culture or sampling Canberra’s nightlife.

For more information visit the SNoG website

Canberra and Beyond…

While Canberra has plenty to keep you occupied, the beach, snow fields and Sydney are only a short drive away. There are also wineries, mountains, and historic towns within an hour and a half’s drive.

"I think Canberra is an amazing place to live and work. It's like no other city in Australia and therefore presents unique opportunities for living and working. I love the fact there are so many community events that happen throughout the year, there really is something for everyone!"

“I really enjoy the lifestyle of Canberra. Canberra offers the best of both worlds – you have the bush at your doorstep with the conveniences of a major city. The short commute in Canberra allows me to have a real work life balance. There is always something going on in Canberra and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in sport, social activities and cultural events. I love the fact that after work I have the time to go for a run, play netball, enjoy the tasty food of Canberra or just relax with my friends over a cocktail.”
